How to Transport your Twirl-A-Tie Displays

8/24/2015

Twirl-a-ties work great for my extra inventory and it also creates a different look to my booth space. Some people really like to shop from these cool little gadgets and it is a nice change from the large, overpowering pegboard displays. This display is open and airy and allows more light into my booth than my HUGE pegboards. Imagine how dark and closed off my booth would be if I used those large pegboard displays on both sides of the booth! I love the openness and the look of the twirl-a-tie display!
Now the questions is, how do I transport so many twirl-a-ties to my events? Many people use oatmeal containers and those work great! However...when you have as many as I do, the oatmeal containers can take up way too much space. I currently have around 20 of them and that is a LOT of oatmeal containers! We don't eat that much oatmeal! Lol!
Anyway, I needed to find a better way to transport a large amount of them that took up less space. I saw this idea on Pinterest and decided to make one myself. Here's what you need:

What you need:
  • A tote box that is somewhat tall
  • Dowels (any size between 1"-2 " will work)
  • A drill with a drill bit large enough to drill a hole to fit the dowel you are using
  • Optional: Rubber stoppers (I used ones that fit on the legs of chairs to keep them from sliding)

Instructions:

  1. Draw circles on your tote box where you want your holes to go. I just drew around the end of one of my dowels to get the correct size. Do this on both sides of the tote and space them evenly apart. Just make sure that you space them far enough apart that you can fit your twirl-a-ties side by side when hanging on the dowels.
  2. Drill holes in the spots you just drew on your tote. You may have to adjust the size of the holes until they are big enough for the dowels to fit into. Do this for each hole.
  3. Insert your dowels into the holes and then add the rubber stoppers to keep them from sliding out during transport.
  4. Now all you have to do is add your twirl-a-ties! I use plastic walmart bags to put my twirl-a-ties in to keep the necklaces from tangling and then just hang them in the box!
